I'm on the fence about this Rolling Thunder I just bought. Initially I was planning to open it but now I can't decide whether or not to have it graded instead. I'm thinking the box is in too good a shape to just rip into it even though I've been looking for a sealed one for several years now. I guess I'm looking for opinions on this, I'm truly stumped. Should I wait & keep looking for a sealed one with a poor box or tear into this when it arrives like it's Christmas 1988?

If it was up to me, I'd tear that damn thing open. Currently have a rolling thunder, and love it.
I'm no expert on getting stuff graded, but doesn't it need to be in even better shape than that? (not that it's in shit shape, I just thought their guidelines are REALLY strict).

You already KNOW what I'm going to say. Open that sucker up, Brendan... But do yourself a favor and wait until Christmas morning.

I would personally open it up on Christmas morning as well. I'd even gift wrap it up for extra effect and put a "From Santa" tag on it. I've been torn on buying a Rolling Thunder or a Thunderclap myself.

Always a pleasure to see your collection.

Why TF would you open a boxed vintage toy at this point? Just keep it and buy a loose, junk one on Ebay.
