1980 Kenner AT-AT and the 1983 Sky Striker. My parents were great and got me everything else I ever wanted.

Never got an AT AT, but my skystriker came from a garage sale (as did most of my joe stuff!) It was never even close to complete, but it never mattered. I was just glad I had one to shoot down the cobras!

I have the TVC AT AT and I'm happy that TVC one was my first AT AT. I got my hands a vintage one at NYC CC a few years ago. It's pretty lame by today's standard.

Wow, after reading this thread I realize just how incredibly spoiled I was. I guess I never had my heart set on really really wanting something that badly for Christmas. Although that Jojo Babie girl would be a pretty fun toy to unwrap.

stljoe, same here. There were a few big things I never got like the Flagg, Terror Drome, and the Defiant (I got all of them later), but overall I had a really happy childhood for the most part. Those memories are probably why I still collect.
We always got one big toy for Christmas. I remember getting the W.H.A.L.E. one year as a kid. A few years ago, I was talking with my Mom about it. She told me what a P.I.T.A. it was to find. Apparently, it was one of that year's hot toys and they had to go to about 15 different stores before they found one. |

The ultimate toy I wanted as a kid and never got was the Star Wars Ewok Village. That was the hot item that year for Christmas.
Also that same Christmas, I saw some toys my uncle had bought and one was the VAMP. I assumed it was for my cousin. That Christmas my cousin didn't get a VAMP. No one did! My uncle got me that plush Wicket the Ewok (like a teddy bear). Found out later on that the VAMP was for me and since I saw it, he took it back and got me something different. I would have preferred that VAMP over a stuffed Ewok teddy bear! Jason |
