Same here, I know I asked for the MCC back in Christmas of '87 and never got one. I just recently picked one up through eBay (technically two because the first arrived smashed in the mail and I returned it) and am looking forward to restoring it. It looks like a pretty cool toy, and I remember always wanting some bases/headquarters as a kid. I had plenty of vehicles but rarely a base. My Kenner Death Star playset ended up doing a lot of duty for Joes later on.

As for the WHALE, I remember wanting one for years but never did get one, even when they were being offered with Flag points in the later years and I had a high school job & could afford one. Of course when I started collecting Joes seriously in the mid-2000s, the WHALE was the first vehicle I bought for that collection.

The other big toy I wanted and never got as a kid was the Night Raven. Really sweet jet with a great design that I loved, just never was able to get one. I am pretty sure I asked for that for birthday/Christmas and didn't get one.

I did get some cool toys for Christmas over the years. My favorite was an Optimus Prime for Christmas of '85 that I still have. Unfortunately, not a lot of my original childhood toys survived.

Mine was the MCC. It was the only thing I wanted that year. I ended up snooping and saw a GI Joe box in my parent's closet. I got scared I would get caught so I ran out of there! Well Christmas came and here I was thinking I was getting the MCC. I opened the biggest box and it was a MAMBA! It was so disappointing. ( I later loved the MAMBA though)
A few years ago I was sharing this Christmas memory with my parents, and Mom said "That's why you were so upset that year!" I thought I had hid it pretty well, but I was wrong!

Thundertank from Thundercats. I had all the figures and Thundercats was probably my favorite cartoon...it and GI Joe were neck and neck. Not only did I not get the thundertank I had never even seen one in person until a few years ago when I bought a complete one in really great condition off ebay.

Around 1986 or thereabouts, I begged and begged and begged my mom to get me a robot for Christmas. Like, a fully functional, interactive, autonomous robot that you could talk to and would do whatever you commanded. I had it in my head from various TV shows and movies (Rocky IV was a big offender) that this was something readily available and likely even within our means to obtain.

Needless to say, that didn't work out for me. Hell, it's 35 years later and I'm still waiting. I mean, I have Alexa, but she can't take out the trash for me or roll into the next room and fetch me a drink.

Castle grayskull. I remember seeing Santa and freezing up like Ralphy. When I told my parents I forgot to tell Santa I really wanted Castle Grayskull they said it was too late and Santa wouldn't know to bring it. It was a relief to my parents blaming Santa because being a little kid I didn't know we were hurting for money and they would not want to disappoint me or my brother on Christmas.

I always wanted the Defiant. I remember seeing it in the catalogs and stores and salivating over it again and again and again. Unfortunately, my parents couldn't afford it, but I can say that I had a ton of Joes, Transformers, and Star Wars, so I can't complain at all.
