I have the 1997 version of the Silver Mirage, the one that was released carded with Duke. This thing must be the flimsiest piece of junk in the entire vintage G.I. Joe line. The plastic is thin and rubbery. Many of the small pieces refuse to stay attached and will fall off for no reason. Even with the sidecar attached, the whole motorcycle keeps falling over because the rear wheel buckles to the side. The front wheel also refuses to point straight ahead. Any forward or backward movement and the steering wheel shoots 90 degrees left or right, which makes playability nil.
I gave it to my son to play with, and he's incredibly frustrated with it. I never had the original 1985 Silver Mirage. Was it always this bad, or was this just an issue with Hasbro cheaping out on production quality of the 1997 reissue? |

Sounds like you need to upgrade to a Snarler.

Actually, the vintage toy was probably more sturdy than the 1997 version that the OP was complaining about.
That 1997 used plastic that was too soft and just touching it will make it fall apart. Quote:

https://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/09/snarlercycle/ Of course, I took care of that thanks to the Eaglehawk.
