So I was looking at my USS Flagg today and wondering what the area around the bottom of the super structure is supposed to represent. Is it an engine room? I know some of the stickers show vents, and another sticker states "slide open during flight operations". Does anyone know what this area would be for? Were kids supposed to play with their figs here as well as the rest of the playset?

There is a small (too small) of an area by the fan tail deck that was for figures but it’s woefully inadequate. Lots of missed opportunities there. It would have been a huge improvement had they put a little more work into that under section. They decals you may be referring to Could be for the elevator, which would have lifted sea craft or amphibious craft out of the water and onto the deck, or lowered craft from the deck to underneath.
