This custom is so mind-blowingly awesome, it just can't fit under the standard "USS Flagg owners unite" thread, because there's never been a Flagg like this! Check this guy's custom out:
How awesome is that? I've always thought that the Flagg was a bit on the short side, even though it's ridiculously long. This base fixes the problem of it not being able to budge (it's a boat! I want to sail it! lol) and it also lets you store full-sized vehicles in its hull! I'm not much of a customizer, but this is one project I've decided to take on to make my USS Flagg a "far more stately ship." I've already cut the board and sanded down and smoothed the edges. I'll post pics of my progress for others who want to add some height and mobility to their Flagg as well. |

Nice review. Thanks for sharing. Maybe one day I'll pull the trigger myself.

Only wish the original had come with wheels. It's too big to be immobile.

Sweet.. I was looking to do something like this, just without the wheels. Have carpet.. those wheels wouldn't fare so well. I really like the idea of giving it some height as well. Once I am finally settled into a place that I have room to set them up, I will put my entire fleet of them on boards and call it a day. Sucks that the arrestor hook and tow car doesn't work with the newer skystriker though. Oh well.. nothing a little moding can't fix. Still need to attempt to separate the wheels from the landing gear on mine, so I can fit more on the decks.

I might have to try that.

Did a bunch of cutting of blocks today and have the Ultimate Flagg set up. Still need to paint the blocks and I'm going to screw them into the board base for added stability.
The wheels work great on carpet. No problems whatsoever. You just have to buy the right kind that swivel 360 degrees, and they need to be big enough. I have pretty soft, shaggy carpet so if it rolls fine on my carpet, then it's not an issue. I LOVE being able to move my Flagg around! It makes it feel like a giant toy finally! I love being able to spin it around and get a different view of it and see it from different angles. It's way to big to just sit there permanently like a brick. |

Great review! I had no clue that the fuel truck could also pull the original Sky Striker...mind blown lol
I really like what they did to add mobility, height, and storage to it - I did something similar with some tables from Ikea, but it's lacking the mobility of this mod |
