In searching for vintage Joes, one can't help but to find the situation where one has a black nose on both Slip-Stream and Lift Ticket. Is it poor paint or is there something else to this story? Might it be cockpit rubbing fatigue that causes this with weaker paint? Any suggestions would be appreciated in fixing this. I have some nice ones but want to restore others. Just acrylic tan? Or is there something special to the mix? Yo Joe! And Thank you!

Yeah, that is a common thing I've noticed as well. They would be otherwise perfect if it weren't for that.
The only thing I can think of is just that the paint on the tips of the nose is not that thick cause of the point. For Slipstream, I honestly think it's the way he goes in the cockpit. There is probably a tendency to hold him by his head to get him into the cockpit and the nose being the part that sticks out, the paint rubs off over time. I see many Slipstreams with the silver on his goggles rubbing off too. For Lift Ticket, it might be a similar thing where people are holding his head to get him into the cockpit. Other vehicle driver's heads were generally molded in flesh tone though, then you won't see this happen.
