I have been looking at my collection and I remember that the GI JOE killer whale I had when I was a kid was a mail away version. I remember my dad (when I was a child) ordering it from Hasbro and it came in a brown box. Not like the normal box with art on it you would find at toy stores. Is there something to this or different from the versions you would have bought in the stores? Trying to do some research on it but not turning up much.

I think it was essentially the same except a slightly darker shade of olive green and the sled door might have a different design. yojoe.com and 3djoes.com are great resources.
