You can still find o-ring figures in some Tree House Kids sets.
https://www.treehouse-kids.com/toys.html They probably kill thousands every year do to their safety issues. Maybe they should be called "Graveyard Kids", am I right? |

Walmart has o ringers in their motorcycle set, no? In addition, it seems Lanard is reissuing some or all of their o ringers soon.

I would still be down for this. I bought my son the "Retro" Storm Shadow and he couldn't get it to stand without the stand. He later accidentally pulled one of the hands out of the arm(yes, I put it back). He has yet to break any of my O-ring comic pack figures or Black Major/Red Laser figures. I still find the O-ring figures to be better TOYS and ME figures to be better collectables.

I gave my son a 25th Anniversary Cobra Officer and he complains to me all the time that the figure can't sit down or fit in any of the vehicles because of its stupid diaper waist. He's been begging me to get him an "old" one he can play with instead. Modern-era figures are so lanky, frail, and awkwardly mis-proportioned to my eye, whereas o-ring figures are much more elegant, attractive, and (most important) playable. That's the thing though. I dont think modern era figures like the 25th are meant for kids to play with but more for collectors to pose on a shelf.

I get that that the 25th figures are not good (at all). But Modern figures, in general, just look so much better. And they stand up so much easier. And they hold their weapons. I just don't see how there is any comparison.

Not knocking Joshz with the original comment because I dont know him and dont know his situation so not my place. However, I often wonder if those that prefer the old stuff over the new stuff as far as saying better detail, etc is just their way of easing the mind because they couldn't find the stuff or couldn't afford it.I thought they are crazy to prefer the oring. 25th and anything after that has a lot more detail and I like them being poseable.

I honestly don't understand the design of modern-era figures at all. Why have an articulation point across the middle of the torso? It looks terrible and there's no purpose to twisting that part of the body rather than the waist.

However, most 30th and later releases are excellent. Give them a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I know I was, I'm now quite hooked, in fact.

Question: For those of you who have no interest in a reissue of Hasbro's original (and best) 3 3/4" G.I. Joe figures that children of the '70s and '80s grew up with, why are you even commenting on this thread? Just to rain on everyone else's parade? There's no need for the negativity and condescension. And there's especially no call for some 19-year-old smart-alecky kid's obnoxious ageism. "That'd be fine for elderly people . . ." *Elderly* people??? You've got to be kidding me. Talk about audacity. And this coming from someone who wasn't born until like a decade *after* the original ARAH G.I. Joe toy line ended. Seriously?
