I know it says that, but no way could that thing actually tow a vehicle with its own power. It might be self propelled for driving itself to a prime mover that it will be attached to, but I can't suspend believe enough to believe that a tow dolly could power itself and its towed vehicle.
I like the Mamba. I would ditch the pods and load up those wings with ordnance though.

I'm going to really go out on a limb here and look at this from the same perspective I had when I was little. These might not be my choices now, but back then, I was something of an opinionated a**.
1. The Bridge Layer. When it came to GI Joe figures, they were like Pokemon to me and I had to have them all. This meant I often got stuck with vehicles I just couldn't use. I wanted Tollbooth, so I got the Bridgelayer. The Bridgelayer is great in theory. A tank-looking vehicle but you can cross rivers or chasms when needed. So long as those rivers and chasms were a very specific length. Otherwise you were SoL. 2. The FLAK. It was a nice one seater cannon, but was one of those rare pieces of Joe artillery that you just couldn't take anywhere. No wheels, no towing, and Wild Bill was forced to air lift the thing in and slowly lower it into rough locations for the Joes. Of course that made him an easy target for Cobra. I can't tell you how many Dragonfly helicopters were lost to a stray Rattler missile, or an extremely skilled ninja. 3. The Skyhawk VTOL I never owned this vehicle. It didn't come with a figure so I felt no compulsion to soil my Joe army with something so unrealistic and ridiculous. I scoffed at my best friend when he picked one up. Now of course, I love the thing and have most all the ME updates. 4. Zartan's Swamp Skier Too small(although, one of the few items that did not benefit from a Modern Era update). I used it mostly as a pile of trash for Zartan to drag around in his only slightly less believable "disguise." 5. Hydrosled. I'll admit the comic that featured this vehicle and a newly revised General Hawk got me to purchase this, but it was truly depressing when I tried to stack it up against the new Devilfish and it came up wanting. 6. Cobra Flight Pod I love this vehicle now, and I secretly liked them as a kid. Especially the way the cartoon made it look like the sky was absolutely filled with them. But my cool Joe street cred forbid me from admitting something so unrealistic could be awesome. 7. Cobra Pogo Another time the comics lead me astray. It featured my new favorite figure, Armored Cobra Commander, but I instantly pretended it was more of a flight-capable vehicle and that the whole bouncing aspect didn't exist. 8. Night Raven Drone Don't get me wrong, the Cobra Night Raven was one of the greatest vehicles in my colleciton. The Drone, however, left a lot to be desired. First, I loved the concept, but it was just so darned small. Too small in fact to fit some pilot figures which was a great disappointment. 9. Polar Battle Bear A skimobile. A skimobile with guns and a couple of missiles. The original comic commercial made it seem really cool and I just had to have one to go with Snowjob. But sad to say, the Battle Bear spent most of it's time in the Joe motorpool just waiting for arctic-themed missions. 10. The Armadillo I know it's cool. I know I there have been like 50 different releases from the Club and I own several of them. But when I was a kid, I laughed at the thing as too ridiculous to be real.

so i guess my list:
1. POGO - huh? 2. Buzz Boar - more huh? if groundskeeper willie joined cobra, this'd be his ride 3. HAVOC - i finally got one 3 years ago to check the block. neato toy, dumb vehicle. 4. Recon Sled - same as HAVOC, except i don't have one and don't want one. 5. Swamp Masher - i don't get the concept of how it would move 6. Coastal Defender - another combat outhouse on wheels comment 7. Triple T - in 1986, after sending in points for sergeant slaughter, we got a bullshit letter from hasbro that he wasn't in stock or something...six year old me was very disappointed and confused and got my mom to call hasbro. they said the triple t was coming out in time for christmas with sgt slaughter, but i wanted my mail in slaughter, and hasbro thankfully made it right so i didn't get stuck with a lame triple t. 8. Mean Dog - it has an identity crisis, and is trying so hard be the MAGGOT 9. Raider - another identity crisis in vehicle form 10. BF 2000 - Vindicator/Marauder - the rest of BF 2000 IMO is underrated, once you get past the quiryness, especially the Sky Sweeper/not Sergeant York/Shilka. but these two are fugly and awkward. no STUN on my list. despite its stupidity it was fun and could be a scout vehicle, and is run by dreadnoks/motor vipers. no armadillo either. i used to stick a figure in the hull as the driver. and sling loading it to the Tomahawk for air assault action was a blast, until they made FLAK viper. - |

1. Pogo ballistic battle ball-stupid name, stupid vehicle, falls apart easily
2. Cobra Rat-super cheap piece of junk, totally open and hollow on the bottom, and the wheels never worked right because of the gimmicky spinning blades attached to them 3. Ninja Force Battle Ax/Pile Driver- so the driver stands up on a totally exposed spinning platform and tries to smash other vehicles with a melee weapon? What if the other vehicle has guns? 4. LCV Recon Sled- I had one as a kid, but thought it was weird. Maybe if it just had a regular wheel on the front... 5. Sharc- even as a kid I couldn’t believe this thing could actually fly AND go underwater. Way overused in the cartoon and had a stupid driver (see the thread on 10 worst figures) 6. Cobra Adder- two missiles? TWO MISSILES? And no guns. What am I supposed to do with this thing once it has launched its two missiles? And it wasn’t even useful for transporting figures because it only held the driver. 7. Skystorm chopper- ok, the helicopter wasn’t that bad but this thing gets docked major points because it came with Windmill. Ugh 8. Cobra Hovercraft- it’s a mattress with fans. And missiles. 9. Sky Havoc- I actually kind of liked the original Havoc despite its impractical design it was a fun toy. It’s just obviously a GROUND vehicle and did not belong in Sky Patrol. 10. All Battle Force 2000 vehicles- some of them looked ok on their own, but they make the list because the future fortress sucked. Honorable mention: if the wind up motorized battle packs count, the G.I. Joe ATV and Tank Car have to make the list.

Well, Sky Patrol was a bunch of enlisted-men US ARMY paratroopers operating combat jet, a VTOL aircraft and a flying submarine all covered in chrome (I mean radar reflecting something). The unit itself wasn't making much sense without any actual pilots in it.

It seems that my sarcasm detector machine ran out of batteries.
To be objective: DEMON = if Destro did not steal it from a construction company, its size does not make sense. HAVOC = your caterpillars with air conditioning and your greenhouse in the front are not very useful in battle. COBRA IMP: every time they launched a missile they had to replace the driver. RPV: Although I really like it, I start to believe that Hardball was white before piloting him. WOLVERINE: I hope you have a good life insurance before firing your missiles. COBRA STUN: Cobra first thought about taking a walk on the beach. SWAMPMASHER: a small vehicle with those wheels would use the same fuel as 10 trucks. ARTICBLAST: do not even think about taking your arms out of your room. DEVASTATOR: I would devastate you with the laughter that would give you to see that thing coming to the battle. TRIBLASTER: the same as the previous one. Cobra Overlord's Dictator: the same as the last two. PATRIOT: only two caterpillars did the work of those 4. RAT: Commander Cobra bought a lot of FIAT 600 and prepared them for battle. ALL THE BATTLE FORCE 2000 EXCEPT VECTOR QUIZÀ. |

I’m just going to assume that the people with the Pogo on their lists are thinking this is supposed to be the top 10 most awesome.
