******UPDATED: Dimensions used are in post #15 of this thread******
I have scoured the forum, yojoe.com and 3DJoes, as well as Google prior to posting this. I've found this topic comes up periodically, but without any concrete replies. Does anyone have an intact Falcon or Viper glider? I'm looking for the actual wingspan in either inches or centimeters. Bonus points for the actual measurements of the foam (without plastic clip attached) from the nose tip to the end of the triangular tail. I found one post where someone "thought" it was 19-3/4 inches, and a lot of other people sharing they thought it was anywhere from 20 to 22 inches. Nothing firm. I have blueprints and photos already, and yes I can certainly approximate the dimensions from those...but I want to do this right. I am willing to share my artwork with this community if y'all feel it is appropriate. I am 99% done, just need the actual dimensions to help scale the artwork properly. I have no intention of producing, selling, or otherwise passing off this project as official Hasbro product. I simply want to print out gliders on cardboard or foam core boards to display with my collection. I will NOT be recreating the gliders on styrofoam or any material similar to the originals. Thanks in advance!

I cannot help, but I eagerly await this, I want to make two out of thin wood for display.
I know Carson at 3DJoes has them framed, he might be able to tell you... hit him up on Facebook or in a PM.

I would also be interested in the proper dimensions. From what I've figured it's 10" tall by 20" wide. I've made a few display ones and one flyable model. They're super easy to make but the color and camo are a bit tough to match. I found some green and blue foam core from staples for the display ones and big foam sheets with the proper thickness for the flyer.

1) Did you print them at home, or did you have them done at a shop like Kinkos? 2) Colors? I'm looking at green and blackish green for the Falcon, and light blue with blueish black for the Viper. Bottom of both would be the same light blue as the Viper. Sound right? I'm guessing at colors based on internet pics and vague memories ;-) Not finished yet, but here is a sample pic of where I am at...

I made a stencil then masked them off and painted the black camouflage. The foam core sheets took the paint better, but everything is hand made.
I originally made the glider out of thin puck board and use that to keep the size of the gliders uniform. I used 20"x30" 1/4" green and blue foam board to make the display ones and 16"x18" 1/8" white modeling foam to make the flyable glider.

Count me down. I bought decals from Cobrastickers years ago, and have the figure attachment sections, and the blue prints as well. I was going to make mine out of currogated plastic like D&J’s Repro Cobra Missile Base.
In the back of my head I was hoping they’d rerelease them for SDCC after we got the Missile command base the year before.

Blackice - Those look great, thanks for sharing! Couple questions:

So here are my proof sheets, subject to some slight color tweaks once I get the printing squared away. As Cross Country pointed out, the original gliders were more teal, but I don't think anyone will mind if I adjusted the color scheme a little bit. Without actual gliders in front of me, I'll never get the colors exact anyway...not to mention there was some variation from Hasbro originally and age has certainly taken its toll on any remaining gliders. Besides, I'm not trying to pass off my project as originals. I just want something that will look decent when displayed.
I'm close based on the actual size of the Glider Support Clip, but I'm holding out hope that someone will send me dimensions from their actual 1983 glider. Please be patient...
