Hey all,
Just wanted to share. I tried a product on some nagging hazy windshields that left me somewhat displeased despite the rest of the vehicle restoring nicely. The product is NOVUS, I got it on Amazon for 20+ bucks, 30+ shipped. It came very fast too. It’s a three step process and you can reapply each step as many times as you like. It’s made for automobiles, boats, motorcycles etc so a little dap goes a long way and one order is plenty for your entire collection. I’m only using it on my windshields but I saw a guy use it on his Night Raven with great results. I cannot personally attest to it on opaque plastic but will throw up some before and after pics for a couple projects that I revisited. These were my childhood toys and wanted to keep them intact despite the scuffing. I’m glad I did because now I can fix them. Each windshield took me about an hour. I applied the first and second steps 3x each and the final clean only once. Then buff dry. I’m happy to answers any questions. Best of luck with your restorations.

So I did my first attempt at a restoration on a Cobra Rage. Unfortunately it turns out one of the footpegs was broken and glued back on so I still need a new Rage Body but the results were mostly positive. I soaked the body in OxiClean and hot water for 2-3 hours (would keep switching out the water as it cooled down) and would scrub it with a sponge and toothbrush. I let it dry and then yesterday I just put it in the sun. I feel the results were very good and I would of had no issues with keeping this as the Rage for my collection until I discovered the re-glued foot peg.

Thank you brother. I love to keep as much of my childhood toys as possible.

Anybody here who routinely restores vehicles know of a site that sells parts?
Going to ebay for individual parts such as missiles, etc. can add up so fast with individual shipping charges. I’m restoring and then painting another Moray. One of my favorite vehicles but really hard to find a complete one at a decent price!

I also just soaked a Dreadknok cycle I acquired in oxi-clean and I really liked the results. I did keep the water more lukewarm and used alot less oxi clean but came out happy with the results and how it looks. Any tips on rusty screws? I have read soaking in vinegar works.Just wasn't sure for how long. |

Grab screw with pliers, not too hard to damage threads, then rub end of screw in the carpet. It's a ghetto solution, but works in a pinch.
