I have a saved document with every figure I believe to have owned as a kid. This was made by going year-by-year through yojoe.com and making an inventory of "yes I had him off the peg" and "yes I must have got this guy second hand at some point."
The biggest years were 87 and 88 when I got 11 figures and 8 figures. The final years were 93 and 94 when I got 2 figures each year. I was in high school by then, and drinking and dating in 1994 at 14. The two figures from that last year were the Joe Colton mail-away and the Action Sailor keychain figure from 7-11. I may still have them Colton in his bag, I can't remember.

The last vintage ARAH figure I got as a kid was Night Viper. I got him in my stocking for Christmas.

I don't remember, and looking at the listings isn't helping. It was sometime in 1987, though. Maybe Psyche-out?

The BAT. Great figure, but 86 was the end for me. Stuff got way too wacky. Even in the comics. I hung on for about another year or so reading ARAH, but when I finally caught the movie the next year I knew I made the right call. It was time to move on. 85 was the peak imo and it went downhill quick. The only Joes I got in 86 were the BAT, Viper, Lowlight, Beachhead, Iceberg and Hawk v2. I got the Surveillance Port and Outpost Defender. I passed on all the vehicles. None of them looked appealing except the Nightraven, and I already had a Rattler so I didn't need it. The BAT was my last figure, and I was done. At least I went out with a great one!

You got me thinking how many figures I had from each year when I was a kid. Here's my list and the order I got them:
1982 (5) Steeler (w/MOBAT), Cobra Officer, Cobra Soldier, Scarlett, Grunt 1983 (11) Cobra Commander, Tripwire, HISS Driver (w/HISS Tank), Destro, Major Bludd, Gung-Ho, Torpedo, Doc, Wild Bill (w/Dagonfly), Snow Job, Ace (w/Skystriker) 1984 (13) Duke, Firefly, Blowtorch, Mutt, Wild Weasel (w/Rattler), Spirit, Zartan (w/Chameleon), Scrap-Iron, Cutter (w/WHALE), Copperhead (w/Water Moccasin) Baroness, Hooded Cobra Commander, Cobra Driver (w/Stinger) 1985 (12) Shipwreck, Barbecue, Torch, Buzzer, Dusty, Alpine, Bazooka, Tomax & Xamot, Airtight, Lamprey (w/Moray), Tele-Viper, Footloose 1986 (5) B.A.T., Monkeywrench, Zandar, Zarana, Strato-Viper 1987 (11) Big Boa, Battle Armored Cobra Commander, Croc Master, Law, Jinx, Fast Draw, Jinx, Crystal Ball, Chuckles, Gyro-Viper, Gung-Ho 1988 (12) Shockwave, Iron Grenadier, Road Pig, Hydro-Viper, Hardball, Astro-Viper, Storm Shadow, Charbroil, Toxo-Viper, Budo, Blizzard, Lightfoot 1989 (8) TF Recondo, Snake Eyes, Countdown, Gnawgahyde, T.A.R.G.A.T., H.E.A.T.-Viper, Payload, Darklon Wow, this is a great idea and should bring back a ton of memories! I think I'm going to do this tonight after dinner!

I had very few original GI Joes, the last I bought off the pegs must have been Sonic Lampreys. Question is that were I lived, after the figures from 1992, very few were imported, just the Ninja Force, Eco Warriors and the Mega Marines I think. Then my brother, although much younger, managed to get Darklon with Evader from a local shop with tons of dust on top of him.
