OK, three part sharing question. Pay attention to the rules. Which year did you start collecting, which was the first figure you purchased or received, and what was your favorite figure FROM THAT YEAR'S GROUP?

I started as an OG so I started collecting in '82. My first figure was Flash because of the three that were left in the store at the time I thought he was the coolest. My favorite from that year was Stalker. I dug the beret and the camo and I thought he had the coolest gun.(sadly, he was also the first to suffer from broken thumb)

1983 Sky Striker and Ace was my first GI Joe that I got on my 7th birthday. I have always been an aircraft guy I had the x-wing and the Falcon and when I got that magical jet in my hands I was hooked and left Star Wars behind. I started back up collecting once the 30th Sky Striker came out I looked at it for a couple of years and in 2013 and have now collected 5 Sky Strikers and with the help of Cobra Stickers I have a air wing. I have recently completed the OG 13th from the 25th line as well as the Dreadnok's which of course are my favorite.

I'm a 91er, aside from hand-me-downs, the first Joes that were bought for me in a store were Crimson Guard Commander, and Alley-Viper v3 in 93 I think? Not sure if I could say I was collecting as a 2-year old, but I only had a short break as a teen and got back into it later in my teens and haven't stopped since. CGC was my favorite, but I loved Ninja Force as a kid.
My oldest brother was born in 81, so I got a lot of my favorites from him, as well as his friend when they lost interest. Thank god for them, this is one of my favorite hobbies even as an adult, and I'm pretty certain I owe it to them. My brother was the one who got me started on the comics too. I remember liking the Battleforce Wild Bill as well, because he looked like my Dad haha. The mustache/sunglasses combo, and the fact he was always wearing his hat(Dad was balding). He ended up on a lot more motorcycles than Wild Bill probably should have, again, because of my Dad. Last edited by Cornguy; 05-27-2017 at 08:42 PM.. |

1982 was the year. My mother bought me Flash. My favorite figure was Cobra Officer or Snake Eyes. I played with them both all the time.

I started collecting in 1982. My first figure was Breaker. I was kind of disappointed at first, because my older brother got Snake Eyes & Breaker didn't have a weapon. I soon picked up other figures and vehicles, and Breaker wound up on the Ram motorcycle. My favorite figure was Steeler, because he came with the MOBAT, and had that cool visor.

1982
Breaker(friend's mom made me trade back a regular head Han Solo, and threw him in as a consolation prize.) Breaker without a weapon sucked, but he was better than Star Wars figures. Snake-Eyes of course immediately, but Stalker and Cobra Officer were my favorites.

So a lot of these stories are involving straight arms as well. Cool

Yeah, I'm too young to have even owned a straight-arm. When I first discovered Yojoe as a kid, I was shocked to learn that swivel-arms weren't always standard.
