Hello gang,
I just picked up a red version of Sgt. Slaughter. He looks like a Canadian Mountie. I cannot find any information about him anywhere. He doesn't seem to be in the yojoe database either. Any help identifying this figure would be very much appreciated. |

It could just be a custom. With the Vast number of reproductions out there this seems the most plausible.

This is the 1st that I have seen. With that said My Canadian exclusive knowledge is pretty limited so I could be wrong. It could also not be a gi joe but still be a vintage figure using Hasbro molds.
I will Show the guys a Declassified when I get a chance they will definitely have a far better Idea than I.

Ask Lifeline_md
He knows all about Canadian joes. Cool looking figure, but I am guessing its a custom. I hope they didnt charge you an arm and a leg and swindle you on a custom.

There was a Lanard Canadian Mountie released with a horse some years ago for the C.O.R.P.s line. I'm guessing someone stuck a Sgt. Slaughter head on that?

Never heard of this. However, around 1985 Hasbro Canada clearance out a lot of mail order figures. The descriptions were cryptic and you didn't always really know what you were getting. However, if this was part of that I think I would have known. It could be a Lanard figure though.
What are the copyright stamps on it? Is it even Hasbro?

It's not the Lanard Mountie. Their upper bodies are very broad shouldered. Probably a custom

Looking at the figure closely it appears to have white plastic ball joints for the legs.
I recall o ring joes having metal ball joints with a hook. This is a slaughter head on a different toy lines body.

The paint apps, at least on the legs also lead me to believe its a custom. How does it feel? Does the paint feel raised? I am currently back at the parks but when I hit the Casino night tonight I will definitely see what what the guys at Declassified think.
