I stopped collecting GI Jo's in the early 90's. Back then I just remember them being 3 3/4" GI Jo's.
In reading up and viewing some of the new line what exactly transpired? I see stuff about new Jo's not being compatible with old Jo's, so I'm assuming that not all the 3 3/4" are the same now. I picked up the Tiger Rat and Python X-30 the other day at Target and I can see that the construction on the figures is a little different in their articulation, but did something else change on them, such as their size? I don't have any old Jo's to compare them against. I do know that I didn't see GI Jo's on the store shelves until just here in the last year or two, but I admit I wasn't really looking. |

Well the older ones are exactly 3 and a half to four inches almost the newer ones are about 4 inches exact and instead of a rubber band for a support they have an inner joint that moves their chest side to side rather than the whole torso move.

So when they say they're not compatible, it means that the new Joes may not fit properly in vintage vehicles.

The new 25th versions don't have short fat legs and giant heads like their predecessors either.

Most of the old vehicles work. One notable exception that kills me is the Night Raven. It's a tough fir on some, and some won't work at all!

So is the Tiger Rat, Python X-30 the 25th anniversary stuff? Is there any GI Jo's on the store shelves that aren't 25th compatible?
I also bought a Para-viper but he's not out of his package yet. He was sold single so I'm confident he'll be 25th compat. |
