The original card art is amazing. I think the new ROC card art pales in comparison. It's like they tried to mimic the old burst with that new wavy explosion graphic, but it just doesn't work.
The 25th art mostly impresses the pants off me, since they were able to replicate the style, but a few of them just don't match up... Zartan's card art (all versions) is bad, and a few others I can't recall right now, but for the most part, they redid a lot of the artwork, due to newly-sculpted detail or changes, and they look really good. |

I love the card art on the original figures and part of the allure of the 25th/Modern Era line for me was the throwback to the original art. The figures just look so much better with them on the card.
I remember not wanting to cut out my file cards on the original figures b/c I didn't want to ruin the front picture. |

Back In 1984, the card art for Storm Shadow was the coolest thing I had ever seen. It is still the single piece of artwork that most reminds me of my childhood.
I'd really like to know, definitively, who the artist was for that piece. |
