Hey there,
I just wanted to drop by and show off my USS Flagg pics while she is in dry dock. She still needs to be restickerd, and get some more key parts in (mostly the small repo type), do some more work on the crew (like painting thier faces). Also, I notice something for the first time, the hull seems to be much lower in sea level compared to the real deals. I was thinking creating a slab 6 inches thick styrofoam cut in the shape of the hull and have the Flagg sit on top of it. Still in the early stages of planning for right now. Has anyone else thought about this or attempted it? Enjoy the pics.

I do want to cast a few more weapon dollies and another tow vehicle and then create some generators and a fire truck for my fire response team. What I would like to know, should I cast up 1-2-or 3 of each of the color deck crewmen to increase the deck crew on deck? I have 2 more skystrikers still in the boxes waiting for Cobra Stickers to restock the Jolly Roger and Reaper sets. What would be a good ballance of each color crew member on deck? Any thoughts would be helpful.

Not sure about the crew numbers but is there a way to get some of those crew members (unpainted cast copies) to start my Flagg crew? How much per fig?

Not really set up for production, but I can maybe cast a figure or two. Not interested in $$ but rather trade. Shoot me a pm and we can discuss it in more detail.

New question... How many Flag Points did the USS Flag come with? Can't find it on yojoe.com.

After years of wanting one, I finally won a USS Flagg last night on eBay. So, hopefully, by week's end, I'll be one of you all at last. It's missing two small pieces according to the seller and comes with the original box, blueprints, Keel Haul, file card, and a Cobrastickers decal sheet. Any tips on Flagg ownership (how to store it, clean it, whether to display it too long, etc) I should know? This is probably all basic, but I guess I'm just excited that a 26+ year wait is over...

Welcome to the Club maradona, (unofficially ) I waited 31 years so I know the feeling. Found the link on ebay for your Flagg and that's not bad looking. http://www.ebay.com/itm/G-I-Joe-U-S-...item20c9c67d38 The seller says you will need a Purge Valve and Mast cap. I see the both on ebay for sale pretty often. I have seen the mast cap casted so be careful, if you buy it off ebay and it says vintage your taking a risk. Normally the vintage mast caps sell for around $60 and the reproductions one sell for around $12. Not to scare you but the repo and vintage ones look the same depending on the skill of the person doing to cast. So if you buy a vintage one be sure to ask a lot of questions. My Flagg smelled like smoke when I got it so I filled up a bunch of huge plastic totes with soap and water. Allowed all the pieces to soak for 20 minutes and then lightly scrubbed them with a small nylon soft bristle brush. The stickers stayed on. As far as display I have my Flagg on a 8 foot lifetime table I got from Sams. I'm military so I move every 4 years. If I didn't move so much I would have probably built my own display but I needed something I can break down easy. Plus I take my Flagg to Joe shows and I take the table with me. Got pics of that. I waited a month for my Flagg while the seller figured out how to ship it to me. So a week isn't that bad. Here is a pic to hold you over. Last edited by DaveViper; 08-20-2012 at 10:34 AM.. |
