I'm definitely not buying a PIT, and I like GI Joe and all, bit I'm not that crazy for a Flagg. I wouldn't really have a place to put it, and I don't wanna spend that kind of money on it.

I am sure we will never see a Flagg. Not even if the movie does really well. I have been collecting modern Star Wars since 1995 and still have yet to see anything related to a Death Star and Star Wars has been doing well all these years!!
And thinking Hasbro will make it a mail in redemption is waaay off. And really if you want a Flagg find one on EBAY. They are out there.

PACKAGE DESIGN: ever see those non-boxed lightsabers sold at Walmart every Christmas? Its been said that the reduction of packaging reducing all sorts of costs; eg weight, freighting, shipping. I mean look at the youtube video review on the Night Raven. That's a lot of empty box space that could have easily and creatively eliminated; just like the economically packaged Christmas lightsabers at Walmart. On that note; affordably packaged xmas exclusive anyone? Walmart did sell huge RC Harleys and 1/6 scale Tanks at Xmas.

That's also a good point: How many people really want a new FLAGG? Not just the folks that say "oh well, that'd be kinda cool" but know for certain they'd shell out the non-clearance price for a 7ft. long toy (assuming it was the same size as the original), regardless of what that price may end up being ($250+ at the very least)?
I think it'd be neat for those that want it, but I barely have enough room to store it much less display it. Makes it kinda pointless for me. |

that things 100 bux? oh boy.. i'd take it for free.
actually i dont see the logic in this, the pit is some new pc of crap they were all excited about, an thought we would go nuts over, an obviously that didnt happen. the same went for the night raven. the flagg is something that means a shit load to all joe fans, if you had one or if you wish you did, an your family couldnt afford it, or you actually new a kid down the road that had one, an you envied. it's plain as day, if it was to surface an sail the seas once again, it would be a sell out! i dont see how this box on treads that reminds me of the jawa vehicle from the first starwars, would be the breakin point to see if the ppl would buy a flagg. ppl will buy the flagg , cus it's the flagg. they still sell on ebay 25 years later, you think a new one is gonna warm shelves? but the pit will i'm sure, especially you tellin me it's a 100 bux. an ppl may say now, nah i wont get a flagg, they are to big, BULL, you will buy it, cus you'd see all the talk on the tank about it, an you see it at the store, an say ah f it,... bam, i gotta flagg now, have no clue where it's goin but i got it, an end up bein put to the side, an if you dont get it, you will feel you are missing something from your collection. the only way the flagg will warm shelves, is if they ruin it like they did with the night raven. if they dont mimic the classics, then it's just a waste of plastic.. |

I'd rather have a new Terror Drome than a Flagg. But then again I'm biased because I already have a Flagg and not a Terror Drome.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and I've been collecting that for longer than I've collected Joe, but I didn't buy the BMF, as spectacular as it was, because it costs too much, and I didn't have room for it. Period. "Peer Pressure" from people I don't know on a message board ain't gonna sway me otherwise. If Hasbro can't sell out the AWESOME Big Millennium Falcon at $150 bucks, there's no way in hell they're going to sell out FLAGGs at $250 (or more). Star Wars' collector base is probably 10-20 times larger than G.I. Joe's. Last edited by Jmacq1; 05-20-2009 at 10:12 AM.. |

I don't care how cool it is. I'd never be able to afford a FLAGG no matter what. I couldn't convince myself to shell out $250 bucks for it (and that's minimum of what it would cost). I'd drool over it, wish I had one, but would never in a million years go out and buy one.

Here's hasbro's solution. Make it a build-a-flagg, put 1 piece into every card, vehicle, etc they make.. (kind of like star wars build-a-droid).. that would sure make everyone that wanted a flagg to buy every Rise of cobra toy.
I agree that GIJoe will never be as popular as what it was when we were younger.. I think the problem is that the kids these days are spoiled with way too many choices and shows.. I mean, even in video game systems they have xbox360,Playstation3,PSP,Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and all are very popular... and all take even more time away from wanting toys.. I would love to be wrong, but i just don't see a new generation like what it was in the 80's.

We could do everything right for Hasbro anyway and they still wouldn't try to fulfill our needs. We could bow down, kiss their feet, kiss their ass, buy their crap, buy their repaints, and what would we get in the next Q&A.... Not one damn thing we asked for! The response we would get would be "That will not be made in the future." While they also whisper.. "Try again dumbass!"
