I just got a box of joes in the mail that stinks of weed to high heaven, like i am legit surprised this package did not trigger some kind of drug search at the post office. I keep each figure in an individual baggy so i am not terribly concerned they will stink up the rest of my collection but is there any way to get the smell out of this guys?

I've had cigarette smoked figures and they aired out eventually.

I found that dishwater (dawn works best) gets rid of most foul smells, but you need to be careful with vintage to dry them well so the screws don't rust....

Weed smoke does not leave behind the odor that tobacco smoke does. I'm pretty sure you are dealing with cigarette smoke, and if so, it's a bitch to get rid of the smell. The only thing I know that truly works is time (maybe a couple of years) and fresh air. I've tried all the other remedies. Sometimes they help, but nothing is a 100% solution to the problem.

PS
The only way your figures would smell like weed would be if you have them packed in a sealed container with weed, and I don't believe that would last (though I've never tried it). The smoke from burning weed would not leave an odor on the figures.

Tend to agree with this... that plant doesn't have all the chemicals and tar and crap that tobacco has, it IS likely cigarettes smoke you are smelling. And like another poster said above, nit just being pedantic and silly that plant is from a family with herbs and aromatics IF you had figures that were stored with a large enough amount of it long enough to pick up a smell then the smell would be a flowery plant smell like Rosemary, Oregano, Lavender, Jasmin or some such. Well not exactly like any of those but a pleasant flower smell not a vile bad smell.

Look up "How to Use Activated Charcoal Odor Neutralizers" on eHow.com. Putting the figs in a sealed container with charcoal could reverse the effect.
