For years I've desired the Monster Blaster APC, which always looked a cool vehicle - sleek but chunky and armed to the teeth.
Recently I found a boxed MB APC on eBay with a BIN of $50 and snapped it up. It did not disappoint. It's a solid, fun, great-looking vehicle. And I love that it can house a bunch of Joes. I know a lot of people dismiss this vehicle because of the bright colors but I like them. I do, however, prefer the colors depicted in the photo of the toy shown on the back of the box - a lighter, more olive green body and yellow guns and canopy. The instructions even mention the canopy and guns being yellow (instead of neon green as they are), so this must have been changed late in the game. Also, I noticed that the MB APC on the package is actually a different mold, as well. There are slight differences in the body shape and details. I did get an interesting variant - the stickers included Canadian flags instead of American flags! I thought that was pretty cool; my particular sample must have been released exclusively in Canada. Anyway, I just wondered if anyone enjoys this vehicle as much as I do. Also, anyone know if it was ever released in the different colors depicted on the box? Are there variants? |

I have the Toys R Us exclusive 2004 A.P.C. Transport (Valor vs. Venom line) which is a black/gold/red recolored version of the Monster Blaster A.P.C.
It works great as intended as a Cobra B.A.T. transport vehicle, but the stickers it comes with are not very impressive, so I changed them out with the custom Bat Hiss Robotic Tank Sentry set from Cobra Stickers for $10.00 But yes, I do agree that this is a fun vehicle, and probably one of the better Transport vehicles made for the product line. |

I hated the colors but did like the vehicle.

The B.A.T. version looks very cool and I guess it means that Hasbro, at least as of 2004, still has the molds for the vehicle.
I should have specified earlier, my Monster Blaster APC has an upper body that is a darker, forest shade of green and a lighter, military green lower body (separate pieces). That seems to be the common one found in photos I've seen online. However, there also seems to have been a version released with a lighter, olive green upper body and matching (?) lower body, although it looks like that could have been a Mexican release?? I'm pretty sure I've also seen a version online (outside of the package art) with lighter green upper body and a lower body that is gray or dark green. This looks like the version I have (although mine has the Canadian stickers ): http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/images...C3046P0029.jpg This is the other version I've seen online that appears to be lighter in color and closer to the box art: http://img2.mlstatic.com/s_MLM_v_V_f...700_012013.jpg The package art version: http://www.yojoe.com/images/resize/w...ster_title.jpg Last edited by DetectiveFork; 07-29-2014 at 02:45 PM.. |

There were 2 versions of the original release with the colors switched..I have the lighter one and tend to like that version the most. It's a great vehicle with an Aliens APC vibe. The BAT version looks good to. Would be a good choice for a redo!!

Ah, good to know. I'm almost tempted to try and buy the lighter version, too, but I'm only seeing boxed versions and don't really want to make an expensive gamble!

I got the re-release version first which I love. But I eventually got around to getting the original which I also love. Sometimes I like the crazy colors.

I really enjoy the '90s stuff - beefier, colorful, imaginative - they feel like TOYS. And I don't have a problem mixing them with the earlier stuff, which I of course love, too.
My cat is fascinated with the Monster Blaster APC, by the way. She'll sit there all day and watch me fire the missile across the house. |

I have the bat one from 2004 and it still is in play a cobra weapons platform/troop carrier. its full of 25th bats and a couple wraiths for tech/defence of the weapon.
