Mine was 86 for sure. My Mom got me my Night Raven and my Grandparents got me my Tomahawk. Not sure why this stands out in my memory, but it always has over any other Christmas.

1989
Night Boomer and python conquest, I was late into joes and had many an epic dogfight with those, no pilot figures so my steel brigade was in the pilots seat with hardball riding shotgun, while copperhead flew the conquest. best non joe year was 1985(?) I got switchblade, Jackhammer, and Rhino from my parents, Boulder hill from my older half brother, Thunderhawk and condor from my sisters with one of my best friends spending the next 3 days with our family, He got Piranha and gator from my family. That was the best Christmas ever

i know had a real strong run there from 1984-1987. I remember the stinger, the whale and the water moccasin in 1984, the TTBP and the hydrofoil in 1985, 1986 must have been the night raven and tomahawk and 1987 had the monster mmc, the mobile command center.
looking back id have to give the best haul to 1984. the stinger is still my favorite vehicle of all time... and no one can argue with the epicness that is the whale.

I can't remember which year it was, but I got a killer whale and it had no blueprints and assembly directions. I spent about 3 hours putting it together and I must have studied the box about 50 times. Remember, this was way before the internet so I could only go by the box. I think having to spend so long putting it together made this one of my favorite Joe toys ever. Hopefully we can get a ME version soon.

1986 was my first Joe Christmas, so it'll always be the best. I got the X-30 with Slipstream, plus a few figures. I might have had bigger Joe Christmases the years that followed (the MObile Command Center in '87!), but '86 will always be remembered as the best.
One off factoid, Slipstream looked just like Carson Able Roberts, whom I'm named after (he married my grandmother late in life). He was also a fighter pilot and the resemblance made Slipstream a favorite of mine. Carson Abel Roberts - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

1986 my parents bought me my first joe vehicle for Christmas; it was the H.A.V.O.C...as a kid my mind was blown by the crazy ridiculous awesomeness of it.
