It definitely needs verifying from reputable sources. However, these sorts of finds do occasionally happen. It's not uncommon for items to get lost in warehouses and forgotten for years. I'm not just talking about the toy industry either. The warehouse where I work has items collecting dust burried away and no one really knows or cares what they are.

I believe they are real, but they are priced too high. It would be impossible to sell them all. :-)
