So I recently won a lot on ebay that included a vintage 1986 MOSC Wet Suit. I was thrilled because I don't have WS mosc yet. So when I got the package I couldn't wait to open it up. I opened the box eveything looked great, card had great color and was free of warping or creasing of any sort. Bubble was clear, dent, crack, scratch and ding free. Corner were all fantastic. There was some price sticker residue which I could easily remove. Then I flipped the card over..........WTF....... It can't be........ but it is, there is writing all over the back. Someone had used the cardback as a figure check list. Oh well Wet suit is now on the "display only" team. That is my West-Suit tale of woah.
Anyone else have a similar story?

Ouch. Did the seller advise there was writing anywhere or describe the back of the card? By the state of shock, I'm guessing not...and that sucks.

That pretty much sucks. How much was it? He could have at least made a note of it in the item description. Oh well. Still a pretty good score! (just don't display the back)
Maybe he did not realize that the condition of the card is just as important to some as the condition of the figure.

Fortuneatle I dont have a similar story, but that item is such a great find, if I was a MOC collector I would be pretty steamed! Did you contact the seller and ask about this?

Overall the haul was nice, save the check list wet-suit. I contacted the seller and let him know. He "obviously" has no idea.
I've seen people do this on cardbacks but not on unopened figs...WTF

something similar happened to me at a show with a 89? heat viper. guy had it for 25 bucks in one of thoes comic sleves with the cardboard backing so you couldnt see the back without oppening it. i talked him to 20 thinking it was a sweet deal. i get home, open the bag and see the same thing on the back. i was steamed.

Heh..that's mine I was wondering where he went. haven't seen him since 86... seriously, I'd be mad too but it could be worse. At least they aren't blacked out with marker. It will still display nice and if you didn't pay an arm and a leg I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure a ton of people here would take it off your hands if it bothers you that much.

you know...try using some sort of solvent on the ink to remove it. Make sure it doesnt eat the ink of the picture though. It may improve the eye-sore of the "X"ed out figs. You might still see the indention of the "X"s...what a bummer, nice card in front though, good luck. Maybe check with other members on what to use to remove the ink.
