Sorry if this topic is already well trod in these parts, but does anyone know a good online resource for buying bags of O-rings for vintage Joes? I'm just recently getting back into the hobby and have a few Joes that could use an O-ring upgrade.

I would like to know too. The ones I've gotten from the club and gijoe heaven seem a bit too small. What do other people think about those sources? Are they good enough?

I use #9 O-Rings I get at the hardware store. A 10 pack is $2 something. The bands are a little thicker but the inner diameter is about right. I have never needed more than a few at a time so I don't know if ordering in bulk is a better deal.

I just bought a bunch at our local Lowes. #9 and #10 both work and they run $2.50 or so for a bag of 10.

Oh wow... not sure why it didn't occur to me that this was something you could buy at a local hardware store, but I plan to give this a try tomorrow. Perhaps buy a small baggie and see where that gets me. Are they referred to as "o-rings" when asking a service clerk or are they normally listed under a different name for their intended purpose?

There is a seller on ebay out of Nevada(seller: penske40) that sells a bag of 100 o-rings for gi joes at $4 SHIPPED. They are the correct size(#9).Here's the link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-GI-JOE-3...#ht_1376wt_764 They ship fast(2-3 days to Ohio). Have bought several times from them and never a problem. your best deal for the price and quality. I have item saved in my watchlist whenever I start to run low.

if anyone goes to the store anymore they are in the plumbing section. you can call the rubber washers or O-rings. maybe you could call them gaskets, not the right word, but it could work. also if you go into a store, just have one O-ring from a joe, to show a clerk. I've seen that some use #8 or 9 or 10. its up to you.
