I'm some what new to the Tank and this is the 1st time I've posted a new thread, so if I did this wrong sorry.
But I was just wondering if any of my fellow Tankers collect any of the G.I. Joe Built to Rule sets? And what they thought of them and if they think it would be cool if they brought them back. I know it's old news, but I just found out a couple of days ago that they did a bunch more after I thought they stopped making them like Freedom post, and attack on Joe HQ. They all have them at yojoe.com |

Did not care for them.
And welcome, BTW.

I think the BTR line is the only GI Joe item I can actually say I really did not like.

The concept was great, but I would keep it a component based system rather than use bricks. By component based I mean items like girders, railing or pre-fab parts...not bricks that could be reconnected into a different vehicle or playset. What Mattel has with the space shuttle that can be broken into different pieces and put back in different configurations is what I mean. The bricks just dont do it for this scale, its too big. A vehicle undercarriage woud be the base and built up on that with different prefab parts would be great, even a large or small jet or jet fighter.
BTR was a great idea had they broadened it a bit more and used pre-fab parts for all of it, the bricks just werent the ticket. Joe is Joe and Lego is Lego. Welcome to the Tank by the way, interesting post. Make some more. |

It was alright, but I think stackable dio-bricks for walls and bases is a better idea.

Well, since im still a kid, I love them. They are fun to mix in with legos so I built a Checkpoint Alpha with them. I really like the BTR Flint (if anyone has an extra, I'm looking to buy it!).

I'm in the same position. When they were out I loved legos. Legos + GI Joe it's a perfect combination. I wish they'd bring them back. It's the kind of GI Joe product that's definitely intended for kids and not collectors. I can't imagine any adult collector who would've enjoyed them. I thought they were fun, the BTR Blowtorch was my favorite.
