I have been collecting for many years and in the last 8 years i have been really focusing on The Serpentor Army. While accumulating many 1986 serpentors, i noticed the early version of the yellow neck variation. For the first 7 years i was buying the yellow neck variations between 4-6 dollars as loose figures. A few months ago yojoe.com listed this variation in thier database and all of a sudden WOW! I see them going for over $45.00 dollars with no cape! I had no idea variants went for this much.
Seems like the only way to get these yellow necks are just luck. Tonight while refreshing my ebay page, i came across a newly listed yellow neck with air chariot (pictured below) for $12.00 dollars BUY IT NOW!!! With the biggest rush of excitement i purchased it right away! Collecting has been tough lately. What are some of your favorite variants???

I'm not sure that I really have any favorite variants as most of what I would actually classify as a variant is usually a very minor thing (ie: Yellow neck Serpentor) versus a more obvious thing like a white coat Dr. Rex Lewis which is either a running change or entirely different figure depending on your stance.
I'm not really much of an army builder, though I have one figure that I have been amassing a small army of over the years and I always compare them hoping to maybe discover a new variant. I will say though, that any time something is heavily discussed on the message boards the spike in price is very obvious. So my suggestion is if you want to snatch up anything Joe related for a fairly low price, don't talk about it publicly until you've obtained one.

The only variant I've found at retail was the 25th dolphin tattoo Shipwreck. The only other one I think I have is the clear Wraith...
I have a hard enough time collecting the regular stuff I'm not fond of the variants, lol. |

I picked up a minty blue gloves Copperhead for $21 on eBay a little while ago. I was super stoked.
Also found 2 Rice Krispies Lifelines at an antique mall over the weekend. I think they even go for less than the original Lifeline, but I just like the fact that Kellogg made them remove all the figure's firearms. Pacify the pacifist
