A couple of other Tankers and myself are customers of Beggar's Canyon Toys, producers of high quality restoration cardback kits.
These kits are clearly marked so as not to serve as forgeries of actual vintage carded figures - they're a clean, affordable way for many of us to have display only carded sets of vintage figures. Firefox91 and I will both be working on some restorations in the coming weeks and months, so we wanted to get this thread started as a place to highlight our work. I did a FF recard about 6 months ago. Frickin'. Awesome. I've been seriously considering buying other vintage joes just to recard. Great stuff!

I keep waiting on them to get more 86 cards done and then I plan on diving in. A great service and very nice guys behind the scenes.

I'm happy to say I'm a customer of theirs. I have done a few custom carded 25th figures to go with my 25th collection. Dusty, Quick-Kick and Airtight to name a few. I have Lowlight and Lifeline ready for their classic cards! Some of the vintage bubbles are too small so I used 25th bubbles as needed. I'll try to post some pics later.

I tried Airtight and the vintage bubble was too small, do you remember what 25th bubble you used for him? I never thought about that, but I don't think I have any intact.
I'm excited to see if he does the 86 figures, I have a minty-fresh vintage Dial Tone I wouldn't mind getting carded. |

Just about any bubble will work. If I had it to do over again, I'd glue the figure down in place.
I soak the bubbles in goo gone for a while to get all the residue from the 25th card off.

I'm really hoping to figure out a way to do the USA Slaughter campaign for those cards. It was printed on the cards originally, but I've been thinking about having a sticker and coupon printed. Maybe Beggars should do it or possibly cobrastickers.com. |
