I think this is a pic of the tank the Mobat was largely based on, amongst others

Anyone know if the original back portion with tow hook will fit the UBP version?

It just arrived in the mail today so i am proud to say i finally have the MOBAT from 1982. It is of course missing part of the turret on top and Steeler but it is still a classic. I am not sure if the electronics work ill have to test them but i need to go out and get the proper batteries.
But with this my Joe's finally have a proper tank for battle since my only other vehicles for the Joe's are two 30th Sky-strikers, RoC Armadillo, some helicopter from 2002, and that retaliation dune buggy. Now both my GI Joe's and Cobra have the equal amount of vehicles. So then who else out there has a MOBAT and just finds it as an awesome classic tank to have? I had one but gave it away, I do have two of the Z Force Battle Tanks though. |

I recently customized one from 98.
Love it. I had the original from 82, then the one from 98 (above) and the UBP version. |

I never had the Mobat, only had the Mauler when i was a kid. Well since Hasbro is not going to re-release the Mauler, i really need to get a Mobat for my joes, they dont have the heavy artillery like Cobra does, but the Joe airforce is better than Cobras!

I have the new MOBAT from the Target set. I also have an old Mauler and Slugger. Now I am on the lookout for a Wolverine, Bridge Layer, and 93 MOBAT.

Old & shiny is better, imo.
I might get that Target one eventually, though. Nothing wrong with two MOBATs. Quote:
It's a great toy, but very much 1982-style. If I did get the Target one it'd just be to bolster my vintage Joes. Quote:
Your picture of is of the MBT-70, a proposed replacement for the M60 tank which never went into production. The MOBAT is based on the XM-1 program, which ultimately produced the M-1 Abrams.
Here's a view of GM's prototype, which the MOBAT appears to be directly based on: The production M-1 ended up much more like Chrsyler's: I always thought it was somewhat based on the Sheridan. Very cool. Not sure I'd put a missile launcher and ammo crates on a tank turret like that though. Not something you see on real tanks. Rest of the placement looks great, though!

I have 2. one of them was my best friends. he left it at my house at some point in the 1980s.....and I still have it ! I found another one at goodwill for $3!
I noticed the tread on them is different anyone have info on this ? edit: this_ - Variations There are two variants of the MOBAT's treads . The earlier version of the MOBAT had solid tank treads, while the later version had notches in the tread to help keep the tread stay aligned. It is generally accepted that neither of these variants is more rare or valuable than the other. In addition to the tread changes, the battery cover was modified to make it more secure.
