Can you tell me if the seller painted over the flaws in these?
I bought a lot of 7 82-83 Cobra Soldiers. They are absolutely perfect. I have many of these, but have never seen them like this except for the ones I pulled from Japanese cards back when they were cheap enough to do that. The silver paint on both arms is perfect, like new, the logo is bright and full, looks like it was stamped yesterday. They don't have their accessories. Also, the shoulder rivets are reversed. The broad, flat side is usually seen from the front, and the small double-circle side on the back, in vintage figures, but on these, the broad, flat side of the rivet is on the back of the shoulder and vice-versa. My camera is only $110 p.o.s., so the pics it gives won't help, so the pics in the auction, which I have below, are the only ones I have. Lot went for $53. |

That's very starnge. Looking at my vintage soldiers, All the shoulder rivets (Straight arm and Swivel) are painted blue on the smooth, rounded side. Also, the elbow rivets have the smooth, rounded side on the inside of the arm and the "hole" side of the rivet on the outside

Well, either way, you have 7 brand-new looking Troopers. The rivet thing is pretty weird though. Maybe someone thought they looked better reversed? I always thought the rivets were impossible to replace without destroying the arms. Or maybe they're factory errors. I have no idea. Sorry, I'm no help.

The true question is why did you buy them?
A: You really wanted some old school cobra troops b: You were looking to resell them c: You collect only vintage joes d: All of the above either way you own them are you happy with them? Shit i would be vintage cobras rock! |

my joecon exclusive swat team that i got , one of the figures arms is that way. i would agree with your suspisions. looks like someone did surgery. are they all like that?
if the arm has had some surgery you might notice some type of clear glue around the seams of the upper arm . i was kinda bummed to see my exclusive came out that way, especially that they didnt come moc. all 600 3figure sets released came in a clear bag individually wrapped. |

What I found that helps in checking vintage figures to see if they were touched up: Pick a sunny day out where the sun is shinning bright. For some reason, natural sun light really brings out the different paint colors. If there is an inconsistant colors of black its a repaint. Colors should not very. Hope this helps.
