I can believe that price, no problem. Hell, it's an MOSC AFA-graded 85 V1 Storm Shadow!

In a healthier economy, I've seen AFA graded v1 Stormy go for twice that. It's freaking ridiculous

Yah the card art is gorgeous. Curious to see how much it will actually go for. Here is hoping that my carded modern era joes are worth anything close to this in 20 years!
(not that I would sell them anyways) |

Well nothing really "goes for" any specific price in all actuality.
Any price is determined by what someone is willing to pay for something on any given day. This is why I never give a "value" or "worth" to anything. Look up anything on ebay using an advance search with completed listings selected. You will see different prices for items depending on when they were sold. Things go up and things go down. This Storm Shadow in particular has been AFA graded. Many collectors swear by this grading system, while others feel it's a load of crap. Depending on what the figure is graded as can determine its selling price, but even with that said it all comes down to the buyer. If a rich person needs this figure to complete their collection, and they are willing to overpay for it, the selling price shouldn't determine what it "goes for". Just because this Storm Shadow is up over $500 doesn't mean it's worth that price. I'm sure in the past others have sold for way less, and on the flip side of that others might have sold for way more. It's like with anything. Something is only worth what someone else is willing to give you for it. In the last few weeks some of those carded AFA graded Storm Shadow figures sold for $1300, $1250, $810, $595, & $510, non graded carded ones sold for $425 and less. It all depends on the grades they received and what someone was willing to pay for them. It also has alot to do with what the selling is willing to part with the item for. Some people might be desparate for money and need to get rid of an item right away, so they are willing to take less for it. That single carded Storm Shadow is one of the more desired figures in the line though, but it could be had for less than what some of them are listed at and have sold for.
