Aside from the box art... Very little... The color differences are subtle

Yep, there are slightly different shades of both the green and the tan. The green is slightly more pronounced in its difference - you can barely notice the tan but if you look side by side the green does pop a little.

Had a bit of spare time and started to go thrue my joes and stumbled upon my UK rolling thunder.Does anyone know how much of these were made? Or how long they made them? And who has one of these? Because I begin to think these are actually very rare. I personally know only 2other people who have one. I also saw only one for sale in years.
So if anyone has any info on this version, please tell me. |

I don't have any solid production numbers, but I do know that they are more rare than they get credit for being. It's probably because there simply aren't that many collectors out there that even realize it exists. The fact that it's a huge toy also means that a lot of collectors don't care to pursue it.
You virtually never see them for sale in the States, and only a few times a year on Ebay UK.

This one is from France, looks like a different color also, it's a bit lighter than the US ARAH version
Rarely see the bright green Havok also Wonder if the Bug had a color variation there since an odd green was used on it anyways and the box was a different color in Europe

I didnt realize there was a UK lighter green version either. I actually like the lighter one too. I peronally own 3 complete US versions and a 4th incomplete with spare parts. I would have loved to have gotten one of the lighter green UK ones for variety within my rolling thunder "fleet", had i known they existed.
Either way, no matter what color though, the rolling thunder is to me one of the better vintage vehicles. There is so much going on from the giant gun, removable missiles, the mini-off road vehicle, and the giant paylaod missiles. Its a definate winner, i have my 3 complete ones "crewed up" with tons of modern era Joes. |

My friend just tonight realised he has the light/bright green variation. To be blunt are they worth any more than the usual UK version?

Hi all! I realised few days ago, the Rolling Thunder that I have is the rare light green variation. I thought it's discoloured! Lol Unfortunately I realized the tip of the main gun is missing too... Anyone has a spare? Please let me know... :-)
