This thread will be for anyone who needs or has tips for restoring that new car smell to their Vehicles or Figures.
This has always been a problem for me because I like to open air display my figures and vehicles and they get dusty fast. I was going to try some different techniques for getting them back in tip top shape. Have any of you fellow collectors had any luck? Want to share your secrets…. I myself always wanted to try tire shine on my play sets to get that new plastic look again. Have any horror stories that you want to share, like what not to use! My best friend has always been a feather duster!

I've been using a diluted "simple green" on a lot of vehicles and figures as of late and it works great. I use a small bowl of the solution and then rinse them in the sink. I let them dry in a way so their screws will not hold the water left on them. You would not believe the dirt that gets left in that bowl that you never would have noticed just looking at them. They come out dust and hand grease free. I'm really pleased.

GOO GONE has worked wonders for me. But you gotta be careful with the decals. I used it for vintage stuff to get the residue of the decals off too.

I only use Goo Gone to remove decal residue from old vehicles that I will apply repro decals to... It works well.
