I like mixing up my o-ring and ME figures. The Rock, ME roadblock, Sgt. Slaughter, and ME gung ho are big guys and should look that way, compared to everyone else. The ladies should be smaller, hasbro's best looking female characters, bombstrike, comic pack cover girl, VvV Jinx, cobra night stalkers) IMHO, are all o-ring figures and look just fine among ME figures. The height difference only accentuates the differences in the characters. A figure like tunnel rat should (because of his specialty) be a small guy. O-ring tunnel rats work just fine among ME figures.

The o-ring figures all had their own character and personality. The ME stuff is just a bunch of mannequins, dressed up to vaguely resemble their o-ring counterparts.

Fact? No, I can't agree at all. Except for knees, the joints O-ring figures have far surpass the range of motion of modern figures. Shoulders, elbows, waist and hips.
Poseable ankles and knees are awesome upgrade which the classics don't have, but how many modern figures can do basic things like sit properly, salute, cross their arms, put their hands strait up in surrender or on their heads like a prisoner, and hold a rifle with two hands? Very few modern figures can do all of those things. Heads come down to looks for me. Fully helmeted figures like the Viper looks better in modern sculpt because it's not sculpted to the neck like the vintage. But the modern human head neck joint looks terrible from the side and back. O-ring looks great at any angle. As for paint apps, modern is pretty sloppy compared to vintage. I've left figures I've wanted on the shelves because the paint was so bad. However, I really like how they're painting details on accessories now, something we didn't get in the past. I like both modern and vintage. I think figures should be judged individually, I don't think anyone can objectively say every figure from one era is superior to the other.
