Here's the whole process: Photograph the carded figure front and back, the cut out file card, record the spin, color correct photos, tweak white balance, saturation, and contrast of spin, crop and make thumbnail, upload to spin server, export photos at correct size (512 high for card art, 940 wide for file cards), build web pages for each character, build overview page, create links in overview pages, create navigation by year, create alphabetical nav that uses urls from other pages to avoid duplication, publish, and finally ... promote so people will know its out there! I'd say I've put about 2 hours per figure into the site. I'm at ~150 figures now so I've probably put in 300 hours? Just ballpark. I'm having a lot of fun doing it though, and I've always wanted to share my collection in a new and interesting way, so I'm happy to do it! |

My set gets patchy after 88 for the figs and 86 for the vehicles. I'm hopeful to go all the way through '94, but it's going to take some crowd-sourcing to get there! More details to come once I get through documenting what I own. I'm gonna do loose figs through '87 and then vehicles through '86 before I start working on getting the crowd-sourcing going.

The 1987 carded figures are now live at 3DJoes.com!
1987 introduced many memorable Joes that still play a big role in today's comics, cartoons, and feature films. New Joes for '87 include Chuckles, Falcon, Jinx, Outback, Tunnel Rat, and more. There were also some sick new Cobras introduced in '87, including Croc Master, Techno-Viper, Big Boa, Crystal Ball. Some old favorites were dusted off and given new threads, including Gung-Ho and Cobra Commander. So, what are you waiting for? Go check em out! 22 new figures are ready, and many more to come: 1987 Overview - 3DJOES |

Battle Force 2000! Sgt Slaughter's Renegades! Cobra-La! All forty-one 1987 figures are now live @3DJoes
1987 Overview - 3DJOES Looking back at these (25 years later), my dislike of the Battle Force 2000 figures has actually subsided. There are some really nice molds and colors on those figures! I think it's just their vehicles that I dislike. Blaster's removable face mask is brilliant. It makes me wish they did Blowtorch, Ripcord, and Mutt that way. One side note: this is the first time I have EVER successfully gotten Golobulus to stand up on his tail. |
