I sincerely can't wait to have these myself, and I'm making them! I've got a loose figure collection with maybe 70-80% of the file cards, and I want to check those off and hunt the rest. Otherwise I just don't bother.

I agree with the idea, but buying books was the hardest habit for me to break. I've presently got stuffed bookshelves in four different rooms of my house, and multiple bookcases in two of those rooms, and stacks of books by those cases.
The file card book is most tempting, though, and one should never feel guilty about buying reference/educational materials.

I went all in. My wife says I'm hard to buy for, so I told her about the books. I said I'd check off all of the vintage figures I have, and then she can use the book to find birthday or Christmas presents. She loved the idea.
