The MOC ARAH figs I usually get aren't perfect, so I shouldn't have to worry about getting dupt. But, it is something to watch out for. We'll need to see a samply of that 'reroduction' stamp on the back of the card if anyone has one available.

These cards/bubbles are incredible. I know custom cards, and they are waaaaaaaaaaaay better than anything I can make. They definitely look spot on to the originals. I actually buy them myself for my own personal collection.
That being said, you can actually tell they are reproduction if you look carefully. First of all, they are clearly labeled as reproduction on the back of the card near the barcode.....so if you see a reproduction that is being passed off as a "legit" card on ebay or where ever, just be cognitive of that fact. If some seller has a perfect card, or near perfect card with "damage" near the barcode....its probably a good chance its a reproduction. Also, I noticed that the card art is a little bit darker with the reproduction cards than the originals. The color contrast is a bit off. I noticed this when I put my original 1985 Shipwreck card upp to the replica that I bought for display. The replica art of Shipwreck was way darker. Still works for me though. I actually sold off all my originals and am going with Beggars Canyon custom cards. I like knowing that I never have to worry about them losing value, and I can display the figure and art without worrying about color fading or whatever. |

I noticed this seller also has a kit for the 84 hooded Cobra Commander but if I'm not mistaken that figure was mail away only and thus never had a full card. Just found that interesting.

This is where I am on it. How awesome is it to be able to hang repro ARAH cards on a peg or put em up in your display and not worry about it? It's just too great. Now if they'd only hurry up and get the '86 cards going!

I love these repro kits so much that I started taking significant actions in my collection. I had a near full set of 25th carded figures hanging on my wall. But it was more for the artwork than the figures because I am not a fan of the 25th figures. I sold the entire lot of them. I then put together a spreadsheet of all the kits that Beggar's Canyon offers, all the mint complete figures I had, and everything I still needed to get. I got as far as buying a full run of 1984 cardbacks and started doing a few. Then by luck I came across the deal of a lifetime. I had a guy sell me about 30 MOC figures from the 1980s for a complete steal of a price. I have all those hanging on the wall next to several reproductions and very little space left. So now I think I am just going to get a few more repros of the ones I like the most and call it done.
One thing that is great about the Beggar's Canyon ones is that they have realistic looking cardbacks for figures that were never USA single carded like the hooded Cobra Commander and Zartan. |

Agree, I have some Beggars Canyon repo cards and they do say repo on them. |

the cards in the Auction in question are not beggars canyon, and they do not say reproduction on the back. Even the card art looks more accurate. the only giveaway is the lack of the pre-cut peg hole.

Some of the cards framed without the figure or bubble would make a nice display piece.

Man, Im bummed because he said he probably wasnt going to do 86. He said he didnt like the figures for that year so he was just gonna concentrate on 85 and below. Im hoping he changes his mind. These cards are so amazing and I love not having all that $$$ tied up in something that could potentially lose value if something were to happen. Im just all about the memories.

I can understand if Beggar's Canyon didn't want to do the entire 1986 line, but they would be smart to do a few select figures. The BAT immediately comes to mind. Also Vipers and Beach Head. Those would be great sellers.
