Do any of you have issues with backpacks no longer sticking in place? I have a few figures where the backpacks stick in place for a bit, but a minute or two later they are loose and fall out if you tilt the figure. I also have a Barbecue figure that won't take the backpack at all. It goes in tight, but immediately pops back out.
What have you guys/gals seen? Is the plastic breaking down? or wearing down?

I have had this problem too. What I did with the ones that don't fit is to carefully sand the peg down little by little until you get the fit that you want. On the one's that fall out or that are too loose, what I did is dab a little bit but I mean a little bit of rubber glue and let it dry and then test fit it. It should work cause it worked for me.

More than likely, it's the plastic breaking down. When this happens, the plastic shrinks. Same reason why Wolverine tow ropes suddenly snap while they're stored on the pegs

Nice to see there are some vintage collectors still out there ,i guess unlike 98 % of the collectors on Hisstank we actually have ours out of the package so loosing parts and backpack problems is something most people can't relate too, because their figures are stuck in a plastic prison package .
Ok i have had only one real backpack problem and that was with my 84' Roadblock ,first the the heavy machine gun tripod that fits on the backpack snapped off ,then the actual backpack broke off also leaving the peg that goes into Roadblocks back inside ,i tried carefully to try and pull it out ,but to no avail .. The irony is i ordered a new backpack from joeparts.com only to be useless now because the remnants of the old are logged into the figure .. The 80's figures are old ,you really have to be careful with them ,they can fall apart quite easily ,the plastic becomes brittle with time ,so do take care with putting the backpacks on the figures . |

What have you guys/gals seen? Is the plastic breaking down? or wearing down? Plug it into the Joe's back, and it should stay put. |

Don't really, the only stands that'll work for them are from the 1983 Battle Gear Accesory pack.

There are also stands that have cone like pegs so that they range in size depending how far down the peg you go. I also think Smalljoes has stands with smaller pegs that work well for older figures. I have a few that were made for Yojoe years ago that work great
