Yeah,
Hey Guys, I'm sure that this has been thought of before, but I have a set of the 1990 Walmart filecards, and I always thought it would be cool to have matching figures to go along with them. I'm not really a custom kind of person, but considering these filecards were never released with figures, at least that I know of, I think that it would be justifiable to have some made. I'm not really into the 25th style figures, so I would like to build these figures using vintage style parts. I went ahead and used the Yo Joe Archive pictures of the filecards for you guys to reference. Once the decision for the parts are come up with, I will probably commission someone at a later time to paint them for me. Someone that can paint them just as good as Hasbro would have painted them, without the brush strokes showing. Here's the pictures for reference: Thanks, Everett

Yeah, they are some pretty cool looking characters. I can probably come up with a few of the parts needed off of the top of my head, but not all of them. The good thing is you can see most of the top half of their bodies, so I think it's possible.
Thanks, Everett

True, you get a good sense of character from the art work, ad what's in the description and you have a lot to go on. Problem for me is vintage parts. This would be super easy with 25th.

you just need to match the original to the wal-mart cards.

Yeah,
That one was probably the most obvious one, with the exception of those 2 antennas on top of his head, probably have to put the 1984 Thunders headset on top of his head, or use 2 Psyche- Out antennas. Thanks, Everett

I'm really thinking the Warthog Slaughter body for Honco. Maybe Battle Corps Gung Ho? Maybe Dusty or Flints head.
But really the problem with ARAH customs is parts fitting...things changed a lot from year to year concerning internal constructions and how neck joints were made. I tend to agree...modern molds might be easier to work with. You'll have to do a lot of trial and error just to see if parts fit together well. But this is an ambitious project I wanna see the end results either way. |

Probably leaning more towards Falcon, and probably his chest to because of that neck tie. I do think that some figures will have to be modified a little bit. Thanks for the responses guys. Keep them coming. Thanks, Everett

Lol. Good luck on getting these evil customs going. Cobra versions of these guys would make more sense.
Wow. Good thing the Joes saw through these morts facade before they could ever hit shelves. Now I know why WM keeps those 9 pegs empty. I don't think I've ever disliked WM more...
