So at Joelanta this weekend I found a Dreadnok Fang with nice Skids & Engine cover, but a broken Rotor.
I was working on fixing the rotor tonight when I noticed nubs on the side of the Engine that aren't on my other Dreadnok Fang. I have one other Dreadnok Fang Shell, and it is without nubs. On both Engines without nubs I can see distortions in the plastic where the mold was modified. I don't have my Regular Fangs Handy so I'm just curious if people can check theirs. Worth noting is if you are 100% sure that your Fang is a Mail-away version of the Fang, versus one that came out of the Box. Also if you have a Funskool or other Foreign-Make Fang, that would be great to check. |

I have Takara Fang I can check at my house, don't have pics off hand though. Here is my old UK SAS Fang.

My years of hunting have shown --
The ones with nubs are earlier - pre 1986 N.A. and Euro- should have flat landing skid. W/o the nubs are later -86+ and most dread fangs- have raised skids.

I have seen both versions of skids on the Takara Fangs but never paid attention to those nubs.

Right, it would have gotten whatever version the US was producing, including mixed parts.
The Fang was a HASBRO Direct item from 86 to 92/93 and has five different revisons to its instructions.

I have noticed odd things with Takara items. The latest was a Rattler I just got in. Opened it and Wild Weasel came on a yellow back bubble(usually UK from my understanding) instead of the regular red back that I have seen in several Rattler sets.
