Hey guys, I am in the process of switching from Modern Era to vintage, and I need a little help. I'm becoming well versed in changing o-rings (boy I wish I knew how easy it was back in the day!), but is there a way to tighten loose joints? You know, like the knees and such? I hope there is.

I'd be interested in seeing what others have done. I imagine all you need is a little extra "material" in the knees to supply extra friction to make them tight again. I thought about using a little super glue and letting it dry before reassembling, but have been too afraid to ruin something.

I hear lots of talk about Pledge Future floors tighting up joints on all kinds of figures. Never tried it personally.

your best option is to just find a cheap replacement figure on ebay, but you can use superglue to tighten joints

Super Glue works for the knees... However while it is drying you need to keep the joint moving or else he'll end up like my always standing shipwreck.

Easiest option IMHO is clear nail polish! It takes a few coats and time to build up the layers but works really well!

Interesting, thanks for the help. I haven't taken apart a leg yet, but based on the above wiki, it looks like I'll be trying it soon. I just got a Destro fig from eBay, and both knees are very loose.
I must say that I am surprised by the solution, I assumed there was a hidden screw that had come loose. Anyway, there goes GI Joe, defying the laws of physics again. Thanks guys! |

Make sure the leg screws are tight, first off. If there is still a problem you can use various methods to try and tighten joints. I have heard people suggest winding a thin thread in the joint, or painting it with clear sealers and so forth to fill the area a bit. Never tried it myself though.
