Okay, I just got the Skystriker I won off ebay today in the mail and while I knew it was missing pieces I need to find somehow, I didn't realize how dirty it was from the photos.
I'm in need of help on this in that I'm not sure what to use to clean the sucker up. Particularly in that I also plan on removing the decals as they're looking pretty bad and stuff (planned to get repolabels on the board here) and want to get rid of the sticky residue. I knew I had a task ahead of me with this, but given how complete Skystrikers go for on ebay and stuff. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

I'd go with nothing more than warm water and a mild detergent/soap. The sticker res will come off and you won't risk damaging the plastic. Hopefully none of the stains are sunstains, as there, my friend...you'd be stuck.

I hope I can find a canopy. The one I got with the jet's connector part is broken. |

A Q-Tip sounds like a good idea. I'll buy up a pack of those to use. Just dip them in the soap/water mix and go? CTG? Never heard of them. Looking over the jet, I need the canopy, one small missle, one of the engine covers, and one engine. |

I have clean my fair share of Sky Strikers already. I would recommend a soft cloth, q tips, and Goo Gone. I would suggest using Goo Gone safe for Plastic which you can find at the Home Depot. If you are un able to find the safe for plastic then regular Goo Gone will do. Just watch how much you use and do not apply it directly on to the Sky Striker. Add it to your soft cloth and then gently rub away all the dirt and marks from over the years.
When your done whip down the entire Sky Striker with another damp soft cloth. Allow to dry and apply your new stickers. |
