Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share my Vintage Gi Joe Killer Whale I recently restored to all of it's glory. It took me a couple of months, and a lot of work, but I finally got it back to it's pristine condition. There is a 25th cutter I used for display in the photo's, but this was a vintage restoration, and I hope everyone enjoys. Last edited by Havok; 01-07-2012 at 12:19 PM.. |

Looks great! What kind of polish / cleaner did you use to get the finnish so nice and minty looking again? I've got a very nice Whale - but it looks like garbage compared to yours.

I did some research through google, and found that you have to remove the old stickers with paint thinner. Use a mask and do it outside. Then soap on water with a tooth brush to remove all of the dust and dirt. And, then finally carefully applying armorall to restore the plastic. It took a few coats in some areas. Once it dries. Using a nice Terry cloth to even out the shine before applying the new stickers. It takes a lot of time, and attention to detail. But, it was worth the effort.

Nice work! That looks beautiful. What did you use for stickers? I love restoring old ARAH vehicles. It gives you a sense of accomplishment bringing them back from the dead!
