i never rembered the flagg as a kid, i rembered the terror drome but i guess the idea to have it is like having the biggest baddest joe toy you can have. plus it is very cool! its all in how you look at it i guess. got to have somewhere to put all those skystrikers. i alweys wondered why cobra never had a flagg after i got older and really thaught about it. i guess no kid would have room for 2 7 foot long vehicles, lol

Part of the appeal is that we are talking about a toy that was so big and so expensive that most of us didn't even bother asking our parents for because we knew we'd get laughed at. It's pretty much the same deal with Fortress Maximus.. (btw I have an extra dirty incomplete Fort Max I'd trade for a dirty incomplete Flagg lol) And yes it's a status symbol with some Joe collectors.
Although I don't buy many TFs now that I am collecting Joes, I'd rather have a Fort Max than a USS Flagg. I almost bought a Flagg with my birthday money one year. I had the cash at Hills department store and they had one sitting there on the floor (didn't even put it on a low shelf), but decided to get a bunch of figures and small vehicles instead. |

I just picked up a Flagg a couple months ago and I love it. I never really had a lot of vehicles growing up and I wouldn't expect my parents to drop that much on a kids toy, not knowing if I would grow out of it in a week or two.
Now several years later I have the means to purchase one and I'm glad I did. It is a big part of the Joe Universe and something I always wanted to be a part of my collection. |

Couldn't even think about asking for one as a kid, it was waaaay too much money. I have always wanted one, simply to have that carrier for all my jets. It's a great lookin' peice, but I have no idea where i'd put one.

When my brothers and parents had to decide whether to get me a terrordrome or flagg for christmas, they went with the terrordrome, and for me personally they made the right choice. I always loved cobra more (they were basically my good guys ), I know the Flagg is the grail for a lot of joe collectors, I wouldnt mind having it but my grail will always be the Terrordrome (though its not really a grail I guess if you owned it all along). I just thought in terms of a toy the Terrordrome was superior in almost every way.

To me, the FLAGG is like Fortress Maximus in TF.
2 really big, blocky items, with a lot of little parts that is easily lost. I think the price is not really the bulk of the items.. but the small items that are easily lost. And personally, I'm not into either. It's too big, costs more than it's worth (to myself)... |

The deck plates are a pain. I just got my second one in the mail this week and the shipping was $180 via UPS. I have a third one comming hopfully early next week and I'll be interested to see what the shipping difference is between them.

I remember one year my father told me he'll by the Flagg for my birthday. He would pick me up every Friday and we would have breakfast every Saturday in downtown, well I would have him take me to the Sears to see the flagg. The weekend before I was to get it I went to see it one last time before it was mine. This is where it turns bad, we went the following saturday and it was gone. So no flagg for me.

Henderson played on nine teams, but he's sure to be inducted as an Oakland Athletic, like Eckersley, and depicted wearing an A's cap on his plaque. The A's were Henderson's first and favorite team, so much so that he returned three times and wanted to return a fourth so he could retire in green and gold.
