Thanks dude!
I'll be posting hauls as they come in from here on out, meant to start ages ago, but just never got around to it. You know, I've talked about my aversionhm to vehicles this time around a few times here on-site, but it really comes down to living in rural Cali. We're very prone to wildfires here, and being evacuated one year and trying to prioritize which were getting packed up among some 50 or so vehicles on the fly was super stressful. I miss having the heavy hitters like the TD, WHALE, Sky Striker and Night Raven, but I'm petrified of having to go through that again. In fact, the shelves my collection is on were designed to pull off of the wall and stack in the back of a pick up full, just in case. I even went as far as to build my bed frame to act as a lid for them, believe it or not!

I have been going through my collection tonight and realize I have come full circle. I went through all my GI Joe figs pretty meticulously and have been kind of going through the reasons why I collect in my head. Over the past three years or so I have been pretty indiscriminate with my ARAH purchases - spanning pretty much the whole line but it hit me tonight that I want to get back to finishing the job I originally set out to do and that was focus on the 91-94 era which are the years I remember most fondly and vividly as a kid. Once I tie up all my loose ends from 91-94 I will be happy with my vintage collection. Sorry it just kind of hit me like a freight train and I wanted to share.
Looking forward to sharing my remaining ARAH Vintage Hauls here too! |

Just got my Ice Saber and Artic Blast. Sad to report that the blue plastic truly is brittle and prone to breakage. The Ice Saber was opened but unassembled however a blue tab on one of the gun stations and on the tank tread were both broken. Going to sleep on it - may try to buy another partial ice saber and put together a complete one.
The Artic Blast is complete - never assembled...if anyone is interested. I'd be willing to trade it away for a Battle Corps Fig or two. |

Thanks. I appreciate the offer. I think the Ice Saber is going to just be one of those failed attempts at a vehicle for me. The plastic is just too brittle to keep it in my collection long term. Unless they made 3d print parts for it which I doubt they do for this vehicle.

Yeah I hear ya, I could probably display it loose with some 3d parts and never mind them not being original. It's not a favorite and not one I had to have as a kid but the completist in me "needs" it in the collection so it would be nice to at least thicken up the COBRA artic force.
Nothing rare but I picked this up recently.. Regarding the Ice Saber - the brittle blue plastic lived up to it's reputation. I was looking forward to adding it to my Cobra Artic forces but like I said sometimes you just have to cut your losses. It won't be the first time I've acquired a vehicle and turn around and sell it off. It's not in demand or popular enough to have folks do 3-d printed parts for. |
