Hi all, I really enjoy displaying my collectibles in glass enclosed cases. It can be a little pricey, but I've found good quality displays for under $1000. And it's worth it to me to have them well protected and dust free.
I've been looking for the perfect case for my GI Joe collection. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything large enough to accomodate the Flagg. I've even considered trying to make a custom one, but I think I'm fooling myself. Anyone know of anything on the market even close? If not, I'll just have to go with a standard size display case and leaving my flagg out of the display. Thoughts? |

Its called a room in your house. You place it along a wall, about hip high so use a table... place some figures and a jet on it. And you're done. Anything else gets to be a waste of money.

You need to put the Flagg in the same box the Ark of the Covenant was in from "..Raiders." That's be a good size. lol.
I actually have my Flagg packed away in a big table with a flip top lid. It's just too damn big for my place. Although, when i was a kid i actually had it fully set up, believe it or not, on an 8 foot piece of plywood i put in the RAFTERS of my garage. Was kinda cool, because it was outta the way, and there was a ladder to climb into the ceiling to play with it, and it also added depth underneath because if a guy went off the edge it was like he fell outta into ocean which was the garage floor. We used to put an old mattress and pillows from my couch under it to mimic the crags and cracks of the ocean floor. |

Not sure if it would fit an old retail glass case or not but that would be my first shot if you really want to put it under glass...try local flea markets or going out of business sales.

You have no idea how many scrapes and bruises we got. But we loved it. it's not very high. But still it hurts.
The mattress and what not protected the JOES from flattening their faces on the concrete floor, but it still hurt our little bodies. Funfact: i dropped vintage buzzer off the edge of the Flagg, and he misses the soft mattress, and literally exploded on impact. I screwed his loose screw back together, but it was so awesome that I integrated into the game and he was dead for awhile and opened up a rank for Gnawgahyde. |

I had an old Closet door from our house that I put it on to which my friend and I would carry back and forth from our houses to play wit it.
He had this HUGE yard that we put it in the middle and said it was the ocean. So he had to make strafing runs on it. good time, good times. |

how about just buying plexi-glass at home depot and have them custom cut 4 pieces 8 feet long, 2 feet high, and 2 feet wide, then just make some corners out of wood and this way the plexiglass square stays together. this is probably the best looking and least expensive way to do this, you can probably do that plexiglass case for like $200.00. plus you can even do the back plexi glass with a water scene with a skyline along with the bottom of the plexi glass painted blue for water. hmmm.. i just gave myself a project now!
