I can remember walking into Children's Palace toy store, Hills, Service Merchandise etc but I can't remember exactly what was on the shelves during what years. I would love if my 80's toy store memories would pop back up. I guess I am in shock that in 94' some department stores still had old toy stock like chrome helmet CC and version 1 Gung Ho. That is pretty cool. I know in 94 if I would have walked into a store and found old 80's Joes for $2-3.00 I would have bought them for sure. **Again kudos to Viper934 for sharing his cool GI JOE pictures and keeping the memory of 80's Joes alive and well :-) |

I remember those fast 111's.....they had the customized license plate decals. I had about a dozen of those as a little kid.

It's funny, I totally remember playing with the Tauntaun... but not really with the cars, I wasn't really into cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox etc... back then, it was all action figures, Star Wars then GI Joe. I was thinking recently about getting the Jeep they made. I collect Jeeps since buying a real one a few years ago.

I found 2 more pics of me....both are from Christmas 1994, I was 11 years old.
For the first pic, I didn't open these figures but I did sell them when I was in high school, God I wish I would have kept them! But at the time I never thought I would ever be into moc collecting. I have no recollection of the 2nd pic. Third pic is one I have already posted, I was really young, not sure of the exact date, I believe I was 6-7, I still have this flagg, it was kept in the basement when I was growing up so it got very little play and thus, survived in really nice condition. |

Anyone remember or have a Gold Circle store near them? I remember my dad buying the '83 Joe Headquarters from there pretty cheap (complete) if I remember right for my birthday and then i called my best friend who was playing with Joes at the time over to my house and i remember we put it together and played Joes until like 3 or 4 in the morning! I miss the good ole days of being a kid. No problems and no worries, just go to school, do some homework and rest of the time just be a KID!!!

Yes, I got them in 94 but they were definitely not in stores at the time, my mom bought this collection from a local dealer, I think they were around 40 bucks each across the board, there was a v2 snake eyes, cobra officer and soldier, cobra commander etc. Even though I didn't collect or have any moc stuff back then, even at this young age I couldn't bring myself to open them. So they just sat in my closet until 99'.

I remember finding a MIB Mauler at Service Merchandise (or a similar store?) on clearance for $10 bucks in 1989 along with a MIB ROTJ Rancor for $7, left the Rancor but bought the Mauler.
