I've got a rather large ARAH collection, and it has been, and will continue to be in storage for quite sometime. I was reading some random blog about about the best way to store action figures for long periods of time and it basically said to make sure they are clean (no oils from hands, dirt or rust) and kept out of sunlight.
It got me thinking, and I wanted to pull out my ARAH guys and clean them, replace all the rusty screws (which about 90% have) and give them a good wipe down. So, in the past, I've noticed 2 different types of screws for the ARAH figures, some have a pointed tip, and others don't. Also, if I recall correctly, aren't the leg screws shorter than the back screws? any recommendations for good sellers on Ebay or anywhere else where I can buy these screws in bulk? Same for o-rings, I've bought 2 different batches, one of smalljoes.com, and one off a seller on Ebay, and both batches all snapped within a month or so. I need to find a good source for reliable O-rings. Also, best way to clean figures? I'm guessing alcohol or any other chemicals could eat away at the paint. Should I just stick with soap and water? thanks! -Zandar |

There is a company that I used to work for, Fastenal, that has just about any type of screw you can imagine. If they don't have them in stock, they can usually get them within a few days. For a bit more money, they can have screws manufactured for you as well however that can get a little spendy if you only want a few. They sell in bulk so screws that small will come in packages of 100 if carried in stock. They have around 2500+ stores across the world so chances are you have one nearby. Just take a sample into them and they should be able to set up you.

The best source for the o-rings is atrevizzo1 on eBay.. btw never buy your o-rings from the GIJCC, they're too small!

yes... the strongest o-rings are at home depot (lowes) in the sink dept. take an original with you. the ones used to actually keep water from leaking are the strongest I.M.O.
I have yet to buy screws, because I buy in lots and have plenty of extras. But Fastenal (sp?) is a reliable company. I am a carpenter and use them often to get replacement screws for ceiling fans and cabinet hardware. most web sites get their screws from them |

I've never found "replacement screws" that fit as well as Originals. There's always been some small difference that makes them less satisfying.
If you're picky enough that rusty screws bother you, Odds are your figures are in a condition where you'll just be better off buying a whole new figure. |

You are better off taking clean screws from junk figures and using those to replace rusted ones. I've tried different replacement screws and they never seem to fit the same.
