Who has this? Isn't it cool? Does your's run? This thing has been around for 24 years and I have 2 that still work!!! (both are 49s, so 1 has to go, and I only need 1 anyway).
Yo Joe - R/C Crossfire I didn't want to do another "let's count" thread as I'm guessing the numbers would be kind of low. But I did want to bring this bad boy up for discussion. The Crossfire in my collection came to me by way of the Awe-inspiring, super generous, and quick-witted Airedevon. Thanks Aire! I plugged batteries into it as soon as I could and it worked!!! My son and I have driven my wife crazy running it around the house. The other week, my daughter had to deliver some Girl Scout Cookies down the street, so she and my son took their Razor scooters and I remote-piloted the Crossfire with a slightly sun-damaged Repeater in the driver's seat. Rumbler hasn't been "assigned" to my post yet. Anyway, I had a BLAST driving that thing down the sidewalks and road. My son and I have already wiped out a set of 5 AA batteries. We plan on getting some rechargables to alleviate the cost of operation. "Fuel" prices might get really bad for the Joes if we don't go the rechargable route. So, what do you guys think of this 24 year old gem? I didn't like it as a kid because it didn't integrate with how I played with other vehicles, but now I better understand it's value. Oh, and it fits pretty well in the VAMP slot on the 1983 Joe HQ. I'll try and take some pics of my 49 Crossfire soon.

Always wanted one. As a kid I had quite the vivid dream that I had been given one as a present. I was so disappointed to wake up and find out I didn't really have one.

I always thought this was a great idea as a kid. I used to strap my joes onto RC cars all the time, and here, finally was one that was made for my Joes. I wish I could find a decent pair of these to play with

My brother had it. I always loved the machine gun on the back, but I wished it was a better color. It was fun to drive around, but it didn't get a whole lot of play time.
Rumbler on the other hand was one of my brother's favorite figures, and he would always use him when we played, so I have good memories of it. I'd love to see an ME Rumbler. |

I bought both versions from a dealer and it is clearly one of the best remote control cars I ever owned. I love them. I sold one of the versions with Rumbler complete with blueprints etc for over $150 and kept the other.
If you can pick one up incomplete that runs-go for it cause it is such a great vehicle. They only reason I dont run is it is because I dont want to ruin it. |

I'm gonna drive mine into the ground! It's already a little scraped up on the underside so that will be no biggie. I have a nicer one in my For Sale thread if anyone is interested.
Anyone got pics of their Crossfire from back in the day? I'd love to see them! I'm gonna try and shoot a quick web video of mine running in the street to show it off! Also, I noticed on mine that the steering doesn't work by itself. I have to drive the vehicle forward or backward and hit the steering stick while the vehicle is moving to get it to turn. Weird huh?

I loved that vehicle. Snapped the axle when it rolled down a hill and hit a grave stone. It only drove in circles after that. Still have Rumbler and the AA gun from the back.
