This is just a curiosity to me. I really have no clue what the majority of you ME collectors think on the subject. This is not so much for your own collection, but when looking at it in general. Do you see someone else's collection being complete for modern era released figures as being complete without GI Joe Convention figures. (let's skip SDCC figures for the moment)

You've been kind enough to continue the discussion in my thread, so I wanted to come over and vote in yours. Thanks for posting this poll/thread.

There should be a third choice of "it depends on if it feels complete to the collector or not". I totally understand what you guys are saying here and in the other thread but I feel like collecting something is pointless if some of the pieces of the collection aren't hard to get.

No, it is not complete without these figures. They are part of the Joe line (modern era). If you don't have all of the figures, you're not 100% complete.

Did you really start a discussion thread?
The con set this year has the 2 canceled Python Patrol members contained within. That's where it becomes a possible grey area in regards to your question I guess. Those figures would have initially been part of any ME complete collection had they not been scrapped.

I feel like a collection is complete when there are no longer any figures (or whatever it is you are collecting) that you want. Of course, if you are trying to sell your entire collection as a "complete" collection then I would assume it contained the con figures and that would probably be my first question as a buyer.

Yes it is complete to me, without certain figures. Ive never collected a whole line, I cherry pick and make customs to fill in the gaps. I could care less what cons offer for the most part. They're a nich and not available to everyone and I dont hold people to those kinds of standards of "its just not good enough, your missing those 8 figures you could have paid out the ass for". The people I know personally that collect everything are not happy people. That wasnt a generalization either, but Ive seen too many others go broke and miserable collecting entire lines because their OCD side wouldnt let them be content with not having a few figures.
Ultimately its complete when Im happy with it, but im always adding to it and updating old figures...so untill they stop making Joes it'll never be complete for me, and I like that.

I think it depends on your end-point to collecting. If you say "I wanna own all the figures that Hasbro has released in the ME style EVER", then no, you wouldn't have a complete collection without the con figures. But if you say, " I want all of the ME figures released in regular waves that are supposed to hit mass retail", then you could consider it a complete collection without con figures. If you are like me and only collect certain characters, then you'd have a complete collection like I do right now!
